Please Note: The removal of trees at the cemetery is the result of a multi-year battle with the FAA and the Virginia Highlands Airport. After over $100,000 in attorney fees and $50,000 in expert witnesses, Forest Hills Memory Gardens has been forced to remove the majority of the beautiful, mature trees. Next year, Forest Hills Memory Gardens will be replanting new trees and landscaping but it will not compare to the beauty and tranquillity these trees offered.
There is nothing like the tranquil setting of a cemetery, and Forest Hills Memory Gardens is a beautiful example of an exceptional place in which to honor your loved one. Located on Lee Highway on the West end of Abingdon, the cemetery is one of the largest perpetual care cemeteries in Southwest Virginia.
Currently we have two Chapel Mausoleums and one Open Air Mausoleum that includes niches for cremation urns. There are six ground burial sections where you may choose either a flat bronze memorial or a traditional granite monument.
Please see special Christmas decoration guidelines under the Decoration Policy tab.
